Wall Street powerhouse Suzanne Shank was honored at the star-studded Black Girls Rock! 2017 Awards, the annual BET television network celebration of top African-American women in the fields of entertainment, finance, politics and more, which will air August 22nd. Ms. Shank was presented with the "2017 Shot Caller Award" by actor Wood Harris at the August 5th ceremony at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark. She was recognized as an accomplished pioneer in the world of finance and a role model for African-American women and girls throughout the country.
Siebert Cisneros Shank is pleased to be currently hosting the largest class of “Summer Analyst Interns” in the Firm’s history. In June and July, SCS welcomed ten such Summer Analysts, comprised of six college students, a graduate student, and three high school students. In addition to spending time learning and working, interns benefited from New York City as a cultural and educational resource. In early August the NYC-based interns made a trip to the floor of the New York Stock Exchange where SCS staff and interns met with Designated Market Markers (“DMMs”), had an opportunity to see the intricacies of the DMMs’ trading systems, and learn about the day-to-day operations of the world’s largest and most important equity market.
In October the Northeast Women in Public Finance (NEWPF) and The Bond Buyer honored Suzanne Shank, Chairwoman and Founding Partner of Siebert Cisneros Shank, along with Marian Zucker, President of the Office of Finance and Development for New York State Homes and Community Renewal, with the “2016 Freda Johnson Award”—one of the most distinguished awards in the Public Finance Industry. Ms. Shank received the “Private Sector Award” and the “Municipal Sector Award” was conferred on Ms. Zucker.
