John Rhea joined Siebert Cisneros Shank in June 2017 as President, Corporate Finance and Capital Markets.
Mr. Rhea is responsible for M&A advisory, underwriting, sales, and trading of all corporate and GSE equities and fixed-income securities; he also assists the CEO with implementing strategic partnerships and growth initiatives for the firm. Mr. Rhea is a former senior advisor to The Boston Consulting Group and founder and managing partner of RHEAL Capital Management, LLC, a real estate development and investment firm. From 2009 to 2014, Mr. Rhea was Chairman & CEO of the New York City Housing Authority, appointed by Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg. Prior to serving in the Bloomberg Administration, Mr. Rhea was a managing director and investment banking group head at Barclays Capital (formerly Lehman Brothers) and JPMorgan Chase & Co., where he advised on more than $100 billion of transactions covering acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, investment grade and leveraged loan facilities, corporate high-grade and high-yield bonds, equities and equity-linked securities. Mr. Rhea also worked at PepsiCo, Inc. as a manager of corporate development; The Boston Consulting Group as a management consultant; and UBS Securities as a public finance analyst and associate.
Mr. Rhea serves on the board of directors of Invitation Homes (NYSE:INVH) and is a member of the audit and chair of the compensation committees. He is a founding investor and current director of WhistlePig LLC, a leading producer and marketer of straight rye whiskey. John has a long record of non-profit service and currently is a director of Red Cross Greater New York; University of Detroit Jesuit High School & Academy; and Wesleyan University. A recipient of numerous honors and awards, Mr. Rhea was twice named 100 Most Powerful People in New York Real Estate and 75 Most Powerful Blacks on Wall Street.
Mr. Rhea is a graduate of Wesleyan University and the Harvard Business School and holds FINRA Series 7 and 24.
